The Housing Authority of the city of
Prichard (HACP) can turn your dream of
homeownership into reality. The City of
Prichard may have an affordable home for
you.
Programs that provide units to homebuyers
include:
-HUD’s Hope 1 Program
-HUD’s Hope 2 Program
-HUD’s 5(h) Program
HACP’s programs are designed to assist
current HACP residents, Section 8 and low
moderate- income city residents to become
homebuyers. HACP provides counseling, and
economic development programs to help
residents take advantage of this
homeownership opportunity.

First-Time Homebuyer
You must be a first-time home-buyer. A
first-time homebuyer is an individual or
family who has not owned a home during the
three-year period before the purchase.
Income
To qualify you must have a stable source of
income. Employment must be continuous for 2
years. If new employee, applicant must have
passed the probationary period. Applicants
must provide their pay stubs, W-2 Forms or
other proof of income. Applicant will also
be required to show evidence of rental
payments such as canceled checks, money
order receipts or a reference letter as well
as a detailed explanation of credit
problems, is any. Credit history includes
landlord, child care, utilities and
traditional references.

Homeownership Counseling
All applicants will be required to complete
the Homeownership and Consumer Credit
Counseling Program conducted by Prichard
Housing.

Norwood’s Pointe
Provides single-family outright owner of
single family home.
Ponderosa Pines Estates
single-family homes 50.
Magnolia Trace
is single-family subdivision with
single-family ownership with 30
single-family homes.
Bella Street
Subdivision is a 5(h) program with
single-family ownership.
Leeds Street Homes
is developed as a Limited-Equity Housing
Cooperative. Families in this development
will have a unique opportunity to live in a
development where they will be given an
opportunity for future single-family
homeownership.
